I’ve been writing a lot recently about how we like to do business. We are a people first kind of company where exceptional service defines how we like to show up. A part of the motivating factor for our mentality is we love to work year after year with a client or at an annual event.
Some of our business relationships have lasted as long as we have (15 years and counting). Having familiar faces to return to year after year only enhances our company’s ethos. I want to share one story that highlights what I’m addressing here:
The ACVR Annual Scientific Conference is a yearly event for veterinary students, vet techs, animal radiologists, pet pharmaceutical companies, and technical sales reps to converge and wow one another with their yearly achievements, new technology, and networking connection. It’s truly a heartwarming scene because most attendees return year after year. So it's more like a family reunion than a stuffy conference. (Although attendees do enjoy our coffee offering in between their lectures!)
We’ve been lucky enough to attend this conference for the last three years thanks to IDEXX and our continued partnership with Theresea and Angela – godsend organizers! They found us for ACVR 2023 in New Orleans when they were looking for a local mobile coffee vendor. Luckily our founder, Casey, and partner Zack, were able to work the three-day conference that first year. Casey and Zack brought their wonderful smiles and charismatic energy, impressing Theresa enough to fly us out to the conference the following year in Norfolk, VA.
That’s where Theresa, Angela, and I met. I was assigned to the 2024 conference, and after three days with them and their amazing team, we formed a tight bond. The bond wasn’t built on how much we knew of one another, but on how deeply I cared for the conference’s participants.
As I mentioned, this conference is a tight-knit group of people. Most everyone knows each other by name and even small details about their lives. I immediately understood the vibe and placed myself in the heart of the room (through delicious coffee drinks – of course.) Hard work and a great smile can carry you through most situations, but reading a room and bringing in the needed energy for a space is how we go above and beyond.
We form bonds with the people receiving their drink. Our team will get to know their name, their coffee order, if they enjoy a good time or an early night. And since this is an animal loving group of people we get to know their pets, too.
Maybe you read that and think, “Sheesh, that’s a little much.” And I am sure the average consumer would agree, but Event Espresso is no average company. We have a vision of how we want to show up in the world and connect with people. I’m fueled by service that goes above and beyond for our community. To meet a total stranger and pull connections through a 90-second creation is a skill we pride ourselves on.
By day two (of this year's conference), Theresa was already talking about ACVR 2026 and having us back to do what we do best. So you can believe me when I say we’re good at what we do. But if you don’t want to take my word for it, here’s what Theresa had to say about Event Espresso:
“Lee and Chris knocked it out of the park!!!!! The attendees, staff and our team were very impressed how they remembered orders from LAST YEAR! And each time the attendees came back. We have folks from each side of the US (all proclaiming their territory serves the best coffee) and attendees from Europe come to the booth proclaiming this was the best coffee they have ever had and the customer experience was even better!!!”
We are Event Espresso. We may be a small team of people, but we lead with a big impact when it comes to what we do. We lead with heart and show up strongly for the people we work with. This is more than just coffee, it’s an experience that’s worth what you pay and the impression we leave behind.
If you’re interested in working with us, reach out today – we’d love to bring our magic to you. See Below: Casey at our first ACVR conference in New Orleans 2023.
